Jamshedpur, Feb 6:  Most districts of Jharkhand are expected to witness dry and fair weather for the next 72 hours, said a bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre today.

However, fog and mist are likely to prevail in the morning followed by clear sky later in the day.

Weathermen said the minimum temperature witnessed a rise today but it would witness a fall after the next 24 hours.

The Western Disturbance was today seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu Division and Punjab at 3.1 km above mean sea level with trough aloft in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above the mean sea level running roughly along Long. 72°E to the north Lat. 32°N.

Jet Stream winds of the order up to 145 knots at 12.6 km above mean sea level was prevailing over northern India.

Weathermen today said that winter is expected to last for another two weeks or so.

According to weathermen, heavy snowfalls in Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and the Himalayan region have in turn impacted weather conditions in Jharkhand and neighbouring Bihar during this time of the season.
