Jamshedpur, Feb 12: CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Young Indians (YI) Jamshedpur’s Masoom initiative organised a groundbreaking event with five simultaneous Masoom sessions held at Loyola School Hindi, bringing together a total of 331 enthusiastic children.
The sessions, a part of Project Masoom, were conducted by YI Masoom’s trained facilitators, namely Rashmi Kanwatiya, Pradhan Mehta, Devasmita Guha (Megha) Bhalotia, Vivek Debuka and Shraddha Agarwal. All these trainers have received specialized training from Arpan, a renowned organization dedicated to child safety.
Awareness against sexual harassment
The primary objective of the sessions was to raise awareness among school children about the importance of child safety and to empower them against the perils of sexual harassment. Each session aimed to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and respond to potentially harmful situations.

Under Project Masoom, Young Indians is actively campaigning in schools across the city to sensitize students to the issues of sexual harassment and provide them with the tools to protect themselves.
Involvement of parents in awareness campaign
The initiative extends beyond the school gates, with members of Young Indians also engaging with parents to ensure a holistic approach to child safety. By involving parents in the awareness campaign, YI aims to create a network of informed individuals who can collectively contribute to making the community a safer place for children.
The success of today’s sessions can be attributed to the expertise of the trainers, who have undergone comprehensive training provided by Arpan. Their knowledge and skills were instrumental in creating an engaging and informative environment for the participating children.
In addition to reaching out to schools and students, Young Indians is actively involving parents in the campaign.
Preeti Jhunjhunwala, Neha Agarwal, and Vijan Mehta, prominent members of Young Indians, were also present during today’s sessions, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative effort involving both schools and parents.
