Ramgarh, February 13: The Annual Sports Competition 2023-2024 was organised by Tata Steel West Bokaro Division at Sports Complex, West Bokaro.

Anurag Dixit, GM, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, inaugurated the function in the presence of PK Singh, Secretary, National Colliery Mazdoor Union, West Bokaro, Mahesh Prasad, President, National Colliery Mazdoor Union, West Bokaro.

A large number of men, women and transgender participants from all five departments of the division, including Quarry AB, Quarry SE, Engineering Services, Coal Beneficiation and General Services departments, along with feeder centres and Gali Health Club, attended the function.

Around 45 sports activities, including track and field events and team events, were organized in the sports competition. The players showcased their skills and determination at the competition and competed for top honours in their respective categories.

Platform for employees

The objective of the annual sports competition was to provide a platform for employees to showcase their sporting talent while also promoting teamwork, fitness, active lifestyle and overall well-being among the participants.

Coal Beneficiation Group overall champion

Coal Beneficiation Group was the overall champion and winner in the competition, while Quarry AB was crowned runner-up.

The Best Athlete of the Meet award was given to Dheeraj Kumar, and the Best Athlete of the Year award was given to Deepesh Kumar Sahu.

Anurag Dixit honoured the winners and runners-up with trophies and prizes.

On this occasion, BV Sudhir Kumar, Chief, Coal Beneficiation Group, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel; Rajesh Kumar, Chief, CEP, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel; Mrinal Bhadra, Chief, Quarry SE, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, Rajesh Patel, Chief, Quarry AB, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel along with senior officers of the division and union officials were present.

Rohit Prasad, Head, Administration, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, along with Amresh Jha, Manager, Administration, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Dukhiya Manjhi Ramanuj Singh and Mohammad Rafiq successfully conducted the annual sports competition.
