Adra rail block: 11 trains cancelled, several others short-terminated till August 2

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Jamshedpur, July 27: Train services across the South Eastern Railway’s (SER) Adra Division will remain disrupted from July 27 to August 2 due to a rolling block for track maintenance and engineering works, with 11 trains cancelled and several others short-terminated or regulated.

Railway officials said the week-long maintenance drive is aimed at strengthening rail infrastructure and ensuring safer operations. However, the work will impact passenger services on several key routes connecting Jharkhand and West Bengal.

The Tatanagar–Asansol MEMU (68055/68056) will run only up to Adra on July 28, 29, August 1 and 2. Services between Adra and Tatanagar will remain cancelled on these dates.

Similarly, the Asansol–Barabhum MEMU (68060) will operate only up to Adra on the same days, affecting passengers travelling between Adra and Asansol.

Several MEMU services cancelled

The following train services will remain cancelled during the maintenance period:

  • Asansol–Purulia–Asansol MEMU (63594/63593): July 27 and July 30
  • Jhargram–Purulia–Jhargram MEMU (68023/68024): July 28, July 30 and August 2
  • Adra–Asansol–Adra MEMU (68045/68046): July 27, 30, 31 and August 2
  • Adra–Medinipur–Adra MEMU (68089/68090): July 28, 31 and August 2
  • Adra–Bhaga–Adra MEMU (68077/68078): August 2
  • Tatanagar–Asansol MEMU (68056): Cancelled on the notified dates

Express train to run on truncated route

The Chakradharpur–Gomo–Chakradharpur Express MEMU (18116/18115) will operate only up to Mahuda on July 28, 31 and August 2. Services between Mahuda and Gomo will remain suspended on these dates.

Railway authorities have also announced partial operational changes for the Asansol–Tatanagar–Asansol MEMU, though detailed timings will be notified separately.

Passengers advised to verify train status

The South Eastern Railway has advised passengers travelling through Tatanagar, Adra, Asansol, Purulia, Jhargram, Gomo and nearby stations to check the latest train schedules and operational status before starting their journey.

Officials said several trains will either remain cancelled or terminate before reaching their scheduled destinations because of the maintenance work.
