Ranchi, April 17: The Jharkhand Finance Department has constituted a high-level committee to investigate illegal withdrawals from the state treasury. Amitabh Kaushal, Principal Secretary of the Excise Department, has been appointed as the chairman of the panel.
The eight-member committee includes officials from the Finance Department, a nominee of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), and technical experts from NIC, Ranchi. An official order has been issued in this regard.

Irregularities found in Bokaro, Hazaribagh treasuries
According to the order, large-scale withdrawals under salary and other expenditure heads were detected during inspections of treasuries linked to the offices of Superintendents of Police in Bokaro and Hazaribagh districts.
Preliminary inquiries by the respective Deputy Commissioners have confirmed these irregularities. FIRs have also been lodged against employees allegedly involved in the matter.
In view of the seriousness of the issue, the government has ordered a detailed investigation. The newly formed committee will examine all aspects of the scam and submit its findings.
