Ranchi, Dec 10: On the fourth day of the ongoing Winter Session of the Assembly, several issues were raised, including concerns over accommodation rules at Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi, the Energy Department’s guest house, the Jal Nal Yojana, and the Abua Aawas scheme.

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi questioned the rules governing stay at Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. He said the Cabinet Monitoring Secretariat’s decision—allowing only close relatives of MLAs to stay there—was unjust and should be withdrawn immediately.

Marandi further alleged that Dr. Rameshwar Oraon recommended stays for Alok Dubey and Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo by declaring them as “relatives.” He urged the Speaker to summon the register of the last five years to identify who all stayed there.

Raising another issue, Marandi said the state pays ₹5 lakh per month as rent for the Energy Department’s guest house in Delhi. The facility has eight staff members and four to five vehicles. He demanded that the government clarify whether any MLA has ever stayed in that guest house.

He also asked for the register and list of occupants of the guest house to be produced, and questioned who manages it, who is in charge, who allots accommodation, and what work is conducted there. He demanded a thorough probe.

Responding to these concerns, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore acknowledged the seriousness of the matter and assured the House that Marandi’s questions and demands would be examined. He added that such a decision cannot be taken without the Cabinet’s approval.
