Ranchi, Dec 19: BJP state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi targeted Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government. Marandi, while questioning the Chief Minister, said that the public has the right to know the truth regarding the arrears.

He stated that the people of Jharkhand have the right to know the truth behind the claim of ₹1.36 lakh crore coal royalty.

He asked the Chief Minister to clarify which years the arrears pertain to, which plans or projects they are associated with, and what is the basis of the ₹1.36 lakh crore amount. He also raised a third question, asking how much amount was recovered during the UPA government and when Shibu Soren was the coal minister.

Marandi questioned why there is no transparency in this matter. He stated that given Jharkhand’s history of corruption, the public wants to know everything. He asked the government to present the correct documents and facts transparently before making any statements.

Marandi emphasized that the BJP stands for every right of Jharkhand and its people, and wherever necessary, they will stand with the government. However, he said that false figures and fake claims will not be tolerated. He added that if the government is truthful, the BJP will always be ready to cooperate.

He raised concerns that the state government might be intentionally creating a situation by exaggerating the issue of arrears to blame the failure in disbursing the Maaiya Samman Yojana funds. He said that the government should abandon false politics and focus on the real issues of Jharkhand.
