Ranchi, Dec 3: BJP state president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi has slammed the Hemant Soren government and asked how long the public will continue to suffer.
Marandi said that the general public is not getting justice due to vacant posts in constitutional institutions. “Posts in important institutions like Lokayukta, Information Commission and Human Rights Commission in the state are vacant for a long time, due to which people’s applications are not being heard,” he pointed out.
2000 cases pending in Lokayukta office
Marandi said that more than 2000 cases are pending in the Lokayukta office. “Former Lokayukta Justice DN Upadhyay’s tenure ended in June 2021, and the post has been lying vacant since then. Due to this, the hearing of corruption-related cases has come to a standstill,” he said.

“The State Human Rights Commission is also completely closed. This commission, formed to protect human rights, has no chairman and members for a long time, depriving people of justice in cases of human rights violations,” he pointed out.
State Women Commission
Marandi said the condition of the State Women Commission is also in a shamble “This commission works to protect women and their rights, but due to lack of chairman and members, complaints are not being heard.
“Due to vacant posts in the Information Commission also, there is a lack of transparency in administrative work and the accountability of the government is getting weakened, along with promoting corruption,” he added.
Marandi said the Supreme Court has also stressed the need to make appointments in constitutional institutions on time, but concrete steps have not been taken in this direction in Jharkhand.
