Ranchi, Nov 20: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP chief Babulal Marandi today ridiculed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Bharat Mata kaun hai’ remark and said that he has no love for Bharat. “Bharat virodh is in his DNA,” he alleged.
Marandi said that the Congress leaders too in their meetings hesitate to raise ‘Bharat Mata’ slogans. “No wonder when President Droupadi Murmu mentioned ‘Bharat’ in her invitation letter during the G20 summit, these leaders created much hullabaloo,” he pointed out.
“Sometimes Rahul goes with Chinese people. Their leaders go to Pakistan. The country knows this,” he said. “It is well known that Bharat is our motherland and we want the whole world to hail Bharat,” he contended.
Notably, Rahul had made the ‘Bharat Mata kaun hai?’ remark while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan in a bid to demand caste census in the State.
On allegations of corruption against the Hemant Soren government and ED notices to the CM, Marandi said the government is busy with earning for the family. “The agents, middlemen, and corrupt officers in this government were given important posts and then through them, earnings were made. Now, they have been caught and everything is exposed, he added.

Marandi said that the ED has served five notices to the CM and yet the latter has not appeared for questioning. “So, we have demanded that when a person holding a constitutional post doesn’t appear (before the agency) even after a notice is served to them, due action should be taken against them. Otherwise, people will stop believing in the law,” he pointed out.
Marandi maintained that religious conversion is a major problem, not only for Jharkhand but the entire country. “The previous BJP government had enacted laws to punish anyone who converts people by luring people or forcefully after a complaint is made against them. There was fear among people but after Hemant Soren’s government came, the fear among the people died,” he pointed out. ”
Marandi also flayed the Soren government for a spike in incidents of crime in the state.
On allegations that the population of tribals in the state has gone down, the former CM said, “When such a large population migrates out of the state for labour, the population goes down. Had they received work opportunities there (in the state), not many people would have migrated.”
Marandi pointed out that a lot of job opportunities could have been generated there, we have minerals and tourism. “Had infrastructure been strengthened, law and order improved, people would have received jobs there too. But the government is not giving much focus to it, so migration has increased,” he signed off.
