New Delhi, May 29: In the case of alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal, Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, requesting a declaration that his arrest by the Delhi Police was unlawful and a clear violation of the regulations outlined in Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The petition also requests an order for the petitioner to receive suitable compensation for his unlawful arrest, which was carried out in a deliberate and flagrant breach of legal provisions.
The trial court recently rejected Bibhav’s bail request, noting that the investigation is still in its early phases and the possibility of witness influence and evidence tampering cannot be disregarded.
