Patna, Nov 28: Under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme (Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rozgar Yojna), an amount of ₹10,000 each has been transferred to the bank accounts of 10 lakh women in Bihar.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directly transferred the funds through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). A special programme was organised at the Chief Minister’s residence for the occasion, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, several senior officials, and departmental representatives.

According to information shared, the beneficiaries include around 9.5 lakh women from rural areas and 50,000 from urban regions. All these women are associated with JEEViKA groups, where they have previously received training and support to engage in economic activities and self-employment.

The government stated that nearly 1 crore 40 lakh women have so far received financial assistance of ₹10,000 each under this scheme. This time, 10 lakh new women beneficiaries have also been provided with the amount. Payments to the remaining eligible women will be made soon.

The application process for the scheme was completed in two parts. Online applications were accepted from women in urban areas, while women in rural areas submitted offline forms at the panchayat level.

Priority was given to women who are already active in JEEViKA group activities. Recently, around 13 lakh women associated with JEEViKA submitted online applications, which are currently being verified, and the sanctioned amount will be transferred to their accounts in the upcoming phases.
