Ranchi, April 12: Coinciding with the start of the 2026–27 academic session, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has convened a crucial meeting with principals of all private schools to address key issues related to fees, admissions, and compliance.

The meeting will be held on April 13 (Monday) at 1:00 PM at Aryabhatta Hall, Ranchi University, Morabadi. Attendance has been made mandatory for all private school principals.

Focus on Fee Regulation and Transparency

The administration will provide detailed information on the structure and functioning of the district-level Fee Committee. Discussions will include procedures for fee determination and regulation of fee hikes.

This comes in the backdrop of recent guidelines issued by the Fee Committee to curb arbitrary increases, including a cap of up to 10% on fee hikes and provisions for maintaining a transparent fee structure.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism for Parents

Officials will also brief school authorities on the Grievance Redressal Cell set up at the district level for the speedy resolution of complaints against private schools. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring its effective implementation.

RTE Admissions Under Scanner

A key agenda of the meeting will be compliance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, particularly the mandatory admission of children from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups.

Schools will be guided on their roles and responsibilities in filling 25% reserved seats at the entry level, including Nursery, LKG, UKG, and Class I.

The district administration said the initiative aims to ensure transparency in fee-related matters, timely grievance redressal, and effective implementation of RTE provisions.

It has also urged private school managements to cooperate fully and play an active role in ensuring access to quality education for children from weaker sections of society.
