Dhanbad, Nov 10: The Jharkhand government’s premier technical institute, Birsa Institute of Technology ( BIT Sindri), will hold five international conferences under the platinum jubilee celebration of the institution.
Giving this information, BIT Sindri Director Dr Pankaj Roy said that the platinum jubilee celebration of the institution would kick start on November 25, 2023, and will continue till October 2024. BIT Sindri was set up in 1949.
“Besides five international seminars, each department would hold workshops separately, organize experts’ speech series and industry experts talk programme,” said Dr Roy.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BITSA Mother chapter held on Thursday. At the meeting, it was also decided to hold the BIT Alumni meeting on November 26. The director and senior faculty members, on the occasion, also chalked out and discussed the Alumni meet programme.
Besides, the director, dean of the alumni association Dr Prakash Kumar, BITSA secretary Umesh Prasad, BIT Alumni Association Jamshedpur chapter secretary Pawan Ojha, Dr BD Yadav (associate professor of civil engineering department), Dr Rajendra Murmu (professor of electrical engineering department), Abhishek Hembram and Rajiv Kumar (VSNL) were also present at the meeting,
Jharkhand Technical University Vice-Chancellor (former director of BIT Sindri) Dr DK Singh and BITSA Mother Chapter president Amit Roy also joined the meeting through online mode. BIT Sindri 1972 batch student RK Choudhary conducted the meeting.
On the occasion, in his online address, Jharkhand Technical University Vice-Chancellor Dr Singh stressed the need to develop relation between BIT Sindri and its alumni to increase academic activities in the institution.
Dr Prakash Kumar, on the occasion, briefed the members about the MoU with South Florida University and on the green energy subject.
