New Delhi, June 19: BJP leaders and workers in Delhi organized protest marches across the city to draw attention to the water crisis and express criticism of the AAP government.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, along with New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, joined a protest at Andrews Ganj, where they criticized the AAP government’s free water scheme, describing it as ineffective or deceptive.
“People are craving for every drop of water. Women spent nights waiting for water tankers while children in many areas are not able to take a bath for days due to scarcity,” Sachdeva stated.

Atishi calls for PM’s intervention, threatens hunger strike
On the other hand, AAP leader and Delhi’s Water Minister Atishi highlighted that 28 lakh residents in the city are currently experiencing water scarcity. She urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and secure the release of 100 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) of water from BJP-administered Haryana to Delhi.
She warned of initiating an indefinite hunger strike starting Friday if Haryana did not release the required amount of water.
