Ranchi, July 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday alleged that the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government has repackaged investment proposals announced after the Chief Minister’s Davos and UK visit earlier this year and presented them as fresh achievements following its recent Delhi roadshow.
Addressing a press conference, BJP Jharkhand State Chief Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo claimed that the government’s announcement of investment proposals worth ₹99,639 crore largely consists of projects that were already part of the ₹1.27 lakh crore investment proposals announced after the Chief Minister’s February 2026 visit to Davos and the United Kingdom.
“The same companies, the same projects and almost the same investment figures are now being projected as new investments after the Delhi roadshow. This is nothing but an attempt to sell old promises in new packaging and mislead the people of Jharkhand,” Pratul alleged.
According to Pratul, projects involving Jindal Steel Limited (₹40,000 crore), Jindal Nuclear Power (₹30,000 crore), Rungta Sons (₹10,000 crore), Rungta Mines (₹3,000 crore), Tata Steel HIsarna (₹7,000 crore), Amalgam Steel & Power (₹4,980 crore), Tata Steel Tinplate Expansion (₹2,600 crore), Ambuja Cement (₹1,000 crore) and Jindal Renewables (₹650 crore) had already been included in the government’s earlier investment announcements.

Pratul also questioned the inclusion of the proposed ₹30,000-crore Jindal Nuclear Power Project in the investment total, arguing that nuclear power projects require multiple approvals from the Union Government and statutory authorities.
“Despite these legal requirements, the Hemant Soren government has projected the project as a confirmed investment and included its ₹30,000 crore value in the overall investment tally. Has the state government obtained the necessary approvals from the Union Government and the competent authorities before signing the MoU? If not, this claim remains nothing more than a paper proposal being used for political publicity,” he said.
Reiterating the BJP’s position, Pratul said the party supports industrial investment that generates employment in Jharkhand but called for greater transparency.
“The BJP wholeheartedly welcomes every genuine industrial investment that benefits Jharkhand and creates employment opportunities for its youth. However, the people deserve transparency, not recycled announcements and inflated claims,” he said.
The press conference was also attended by BJP Co-Media In-charges Ajay Rai and Neeraj Singh.
