Patna, Nov 15: The BJP has initiated its first major disciplinary action after the NDA’s sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, suspending former Union Minister and Arrah MP RK Singh for what the party termed “serious indiscipline.”

Singh has been given seven days to explain why he should not be permanently removed from the party.

The decision follows weeks of public criticism from Singh, who had repeatedly attacked the NDA’s top leadership, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and JD(U) strongman Anant Singh.

He had also accused the Election Commission of mishandling law and order during the polls. Earlier in the month, Singh alleged a ₹62,000-crore corruption scam tied to a power project and posted documents on his official X account to support his claims.

The suspension letter stated that Singh’s behaviour had damaged the party’s image and violated organisational discipline.

Similar notices and suspensions were also issued to MLC Ashok Agarwal and Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal, with the party stating that their actions had caused harm to the BJP.

Singh had openly criticised the conduct of the election, calling the movement of armed vehicle convoys during the polling period a blatant breach of democratic norms.

He argued that both the Election Commission and local administration failed in their duty to ensure a fair and secure environment and urged stricter enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
