New Delhi, August 13: Party sources have indicated that a meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office bearers is likely on August 17 in New Delhi, with discussions expected to centre on the membership drive, assembly poll readiness, and organizational elections.

BJP chief JP Nadda will chair the meeting, which will be attended by BJP state presidents, general secretaries, and other office-bearers. Sources have also confirmed that party general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh will be present.

They mentioned that this is the first significant meeting of party office-bearers since the Lok Sabha elections.

The upcoming assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand are crucial for the BJP, especially after the party did not secure an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP currently holds power in Maharashtra and Haryana, but the party’s performance in these states during the Lok Sabha elections fell short of expectations.
