BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan wins Milkipur by-election by over 61,000 votes

Ayodhya, Feb 8: In the Uttar Pradesh’s Milkipur by-election which comes under Ayodhya district, BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan has won by 61,710 votes, defeating SP’s Ajit Prasad. Paswan has reached the counting center to receive his victory certificate.

After 31 rounds of counting, BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan secured 1,46,397 votes, while SP’s Ajit Prasad received 84,687 votes. Azad Samaj Party’s Santosh Kumar finished third with 5,459 votes.

A total of 10 candidates contested from the Milkipur seat, but the key battle was between BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan and Samajwadi Party’s Ajit Prasad, son of former MLA and current MP Awadhesh Prasad.

Intense campaigning by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav kept the Milkipur seat in the spotlight, making it a major highlight in national media.
