Dubai, Oct 2: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah reclaimed his position as the top-ranked Test bowler, while young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal climbed to third place in the latest ICC Test Rankings released on Wednesday.

Bumrah has moved ahead of teammate Ravichandran Ashwin to claim the top spot for the second time, thanks to his outstanding performance in India’s recent seven-wicket win against Bangladesh in Kanpur, where he recorded six wickets overall, including three in each innings.

Ashwin took five wickets in that match and is just one point behind Bumrah, who has a rating of 870 points.

Jaiswal was named Player of the Match in the rain-affected Test against Bangladesh, and his scores of 72 and 51 propelled him two spots to a career-high third place with a rating of 792 in the updated Test batter rankings.

Virat Kohli with a rating of 724 points has re-entered the top 10, climbing six spots to sixth rank after scoring a quickfire 47 and an unbeaten 29 against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant slipped down three spots and is currently ranked ninth with a rating of 718.
