Ranchi, February 10: In a display of talent, creativity and cultural richness, DPS Ranchi celebrated its annual day today for classes Prep and Nursery at the Vivekananda Auditorium.
The programme was an amalgamation of various hues befitting the theme ‘SITAARE – The Twinkling Stars…’
Mesmerising welcome song
The cultural fiesta unfolded with a mesmerising welcome song. It was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and sapling presentation to the esteemed luminaries.

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Jharkhand High Court and his wife, Niru Prasad, graced the show.
The Principal of the school, Dr. Ram Singh, in his inaugural address, extended a warm welcome to one and all present on the occasion and recapitulated all the activities undertaken during the academic session 2023-24, highlighting the achievements of the school and the students.

He also added that DPS Ranchi not only imparts excellent education but also provides great scruples and values to the students so that they can effectively serve the nation. Furthermore, he emphasised on fostering essential ‘Life Skills’ and developing leadership qualities in the young Dpsites.

Fun-filled adventure trip
Right after the Principal’s address, the youngest lot of the school, the Nursery kids, took everyone on a fantastical, fun-filled adventure trip themed ‘Indradhanush to the imaginary land of Flowers, Rainbow, Butterflies, Candies and so forth.
Justice Prasad, in his address, opined that the students have smartly carved a niche for themselves. He added that education earns wisdom only if academics are not taken as the end but as a means to progress.
He congratulated the management of DPS Ranchi for maintaining these parameters to be of foremost importance and for providing excellent facilities and opportunities to its young learners. He applauded the school’s incredible achievements over 35 glorious years in scholastic and non-scholastic areas.

He also appreciated the contribution of the Principal of the school, Dr. Ram Singh. He acknowledged his services in taking important measures and decisions for the smooth functioning of the school.
Display of tales
The next highlight of the evening, ‘Euphoria’, was a mesmerising display of tales with a strong emphasis on the values of friendship, cooperation and companionship.

The tiny tots of Prep dressed up as various Disneyland characters like Dora, Lion Alladin, Mickey Mouse, Noddy, Barbie enabled us to relive the stories we heard in our childhood from across the world.
The standing ovation, as well as the smile on the faces of the content audience, was a testament to the massive success of the event that left the school echoing with the sound of music.
