Jamshedpur, September 3: A major fire broke out on Wednesday at a stockyard near Pardih Chowk under the Azadnagar police station area, triggering panic among residents.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at a Maruti company stockyard when a Ford Figo car suddenly caught fire.
Vehicle Engulfed in Seconds
Eyewitnesses said the car was engulfed in flames within moments, sending thick black smoke billowing across the area. Local residents rushed to the scene and quickly alerted Azadnagar police and the fire brigade.

Cause Linked to Battery Replacement
Preliminary information suggested that the car’s battery was being replaced at the time of the incident. The fire broke out when an attempt was made to start the vehicle, spreading rapidly before becoming severe.

DSP Sikandar Khan stated that if the flames had not been contained promptly, several nearby vehicles could also have been damaged.
Fire Brigade Contained the Blaze
Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot swiftly. After much effort, firefighters managed to douse the blaze, averting a major mishap. Residents breathed a sigh of relief once the fire was brought under control.
No Casualties Reported
Though no casualties or injuries were reported, the Ford Figo was completely gutted. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
