Ayodhya, Oct 23: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday apprehended two individuals, including a contract Junior Engineer (JE) and another official from the Ayodhya cantonment board, for purportedly soliciting and receiving a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant.
On Tuesday, the CBI filed a case against an individual linked to the Ayodhya cantonment board, accused of demanding a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant in exchange for issuing an allotment or permission letter to retrieve wood stored at the board’s office.

The wood was allocated to the complainant for ₹1,37,500 following an auction conducted by the Cantonment Board.
The CBI set up a trap and apprehended the accused in the act of demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from the complainant.
At the same time, a monitored call exposed the junior engineer’s involvement, confirming his complicity in the offense. Subsequently, the CBI arrested him and the other accused.
