Ranchi, July 17: Former Additional Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Kapil Raj, has submitted his resignation. After returning from ED to his parent department, he was posted as Additional Commissioner in the Delhi Zone of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DDGI).

The Central Government has accepted his resignation and issued the official order regarding the same.

Kapil Raj served on deputation in the ED for eight years. In 2022, the Central Government assigned him the additional charge of Joint Director at the ED’s zonal office in Jharkhand. While stationed in Ranchi, he was promoted from Joint Director to Additional Director.

During his tenure in Ranchi, Kapil Raj investigated several high-profile cases including illegal mining, land scams, commission-related corruption in the Rural Development Department, and money laundering.
He also led the probe into the MNREGA scam in Khunti. His investigation into money laundering led to the arrest and imprisonment of several ministers and IAS officers.

While holding charge in Kolkata, he also investigated significant cases such as the high-profile ECL scam and cross-border cattle smuggling. In December 2024, the Central Government repatriated him from the ED to his parent department.
