Jamshedpur, Oct 3: Tata Steel has officially entered the inaugural Archery Premier League with its own team — the Chero Archers.
The team’s official kit was unveiled today in the presence of D. B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel; Manish Mishra, Chief CRE, Tata Steel; and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel.
The formation of the Chero Archers builds on Tata Steel’s legacy of nurturing world-class talent through the Tata Archery Academy, which has produced Olympians, acclaimed coaches, and national champions.

Rooted in Jharkhand, the team draws its name from the Chero dynasty — a symbol of courage, resilience, and cultural pride. Embodying this spirit, the Chero Archers aim to inspire excellence and elevate the sport nationwide.
In their first match of the season against the Chola Chiefs, the Chero Archers put up a spirited fight in a closely contested game but narrowly missed victory.
Representing the team were Mathias Fullerton, Katharina Bauer, Prithika, and Atanu Das, all of whom showcased commendable skill and determination.
The squad brings together a dynamic blend of experienced stalwarts and promising young archers from India and abroad, united by their passion for the sport and teamwork.
