Jamshedpur, Nov 4: A seminar on safety and an exhibition was organized by CII’s (Confederation of Indian Industry) Jharkhand chapter in Jamshedpur on Friday.
The chief guest of the seminar was chief factory inspector Gopal Kumar who said that ignoring safety standards at the workplace is inviting accidents.
“If any company works keeping in mind various aspects of safety rules, then accidents reduce. The policies set by the government for safety in factories or any other places must be followed. Everyone has a different way of thinking regarding security. There has been a significant reduction in accidents in factories in Jharkhand in the last five years. The main reason for this is to follow safety rules, ” he said.
CII Jharkhand State Council Chairman Ujjal Chakraborti said that security should be a priority in any company, organization or other workplace.
Everyone should also cooperate in meeting the set safety standards. There is a huge shortage of security resources in the MSME sector too, but it is necessary to follow security standards in this sector. At the same time, road safety has also become a serious problem today. There is a need to reduce road accidents, he pointed out.
Speaking at the seminar, S Behera, deputy chairman of CII Eastern Region, said there is a need to adopt “safety first”. ESG audits help an organization understand and improve security measures. Thus, ESG audits should be made mandatory, he explained.
Paresh Rakesh, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Regional Head, Netradyne, talked about adopting safety rules and giving frequent updates on safety to the employees.
