Ranchi, Dec 12: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted the Jharkhand Tribal Entrepreneurship Summit in Ranchi under the theme “Rooted in Heritage, Rising in Enterprise,” focusing on accelerating tribal-led growth through improved access to finance, markets, skills, and technology.

The event brought together tribal entrepreneurs, industry leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, and development agencies from across Eastern India to strengthen dialogue on resilience, market readiness, and ecosystem development.

The summit reaffirmed CII’s commitment to nurturing tribal entrepreneurship and positioning tribal communities as key drivers of regional economic transformation.

Tapas Sahu, Past Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & Managing Director, Highco Engineers Pvt. Ltd., emphasized Jharkhand’s immense potential for tribal enterprise. He noted that despite strong capabilities, tribal entrepreneurs often face challenges due to limited guidance on government schemes, low financial literacy, and restricted market linkages.

He highlighted the importance of platforms like this Summit in showcasing innovation and connecting tribal talent to wider business ecosystems.

He also announced the launch of a CII directory featuring nearly 200 tribal entrepreneurs, designed to boost national visibility and enable stronger connections with government agencies, industry partners, and investors.

Jitendra Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment, Training & Skill Development, Government of Jharkhand, underscored the growing contribution of tribal entrepreneurs to India’s GDP.
