Jamshedpur, April 29: Due to intense heat, classes between Kindergarten ( KG ) and VIII will remain suspended in all schools across Jharkhand from tomorrow until further orders.
This evening, the Department of School Education and Literacy Development, Jharkhand, came out with a circular announcing the suspension of classes due to extreme heat and heat wave conditions.
“Given the scorching heat, the Jharkhand government has suspended the classes from KG to Class VIII in all the state schools with immediate effect and further orders, ” said an official of the district education department.

All types of events have been postponed till further orders
Classes from IX will be held from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Prayer meetings, sports, and other outdoor activities will not be conducted during this period.
The order will not apply to teachers and other non-teaching staff.
Till the following order, the teachers and education staff in government schools will evaluate the answer sheets of the annual examination from classes I to VII, prepare the result publication report card and enter the student’s marks online in the e-Vidya Vahini portal.
The order will apply toto all government, private, aided, unaided, and minority schools across Jharkhand.
Notably, Jharkhand is in the grip of a heat wave, with several places notching extreme temperatures of around 44 and 46 degrees Celsius for the last couple of days.
Apart from heatwave conditions, Loo also dominates at several places, posing a threat of heat stroke.
According to IMD forecast, the heatwave will continue until May 2.
