CM directs officials to ensure drinking water facilities amid Jharkhand heatwave

Ranchi, May 23: Amid rising temperatures and heatwave conditions across Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed officials across the state to ensure immediate relief measures for the public, especially the availability of drinking water at government offices and public places.

The Chief Minister instructed all Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Station House Officers, Circle Officers, Block Development Officers and Panchayat representatives to make adequate arrangements for drinking water for passersby and the general public.

He also directed officials to install clear signboards indicating the availability of drinking water facilities so that people can easily access relief during the ongoing heatwave.

“During this period of severe heat, the administration must function with complete sensitivity, promptness and a humanitarian approach. Public interest is paramount,” Hemant Soren said.
