Ranchi, Dec 6: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren appeared before the MP/MLA court in Ranchi in a case linked to allegations that he failed to comply with Enforcement Directorate summons.

During the proceedings, he submitted two bail bonds of ₹7,000 each. The court has fixed December 12 as the next date of hearing, which his counsel will attend on his behalf.

This appearance followed a direction from the Jharkhand High Court, which had earlier asked him to furnish bail bonds before the MP/MLA court while considering his request for exemption from personal presence.

After complying with that order, the Chief Minister has now been allowed to participate in future proceedings through video conferencing rather than appearing physically.

The case originated from an ED complaint alleging that Soren did not present himself for questioning in connection with a land-related probe, despite multiple notices issued to him.
