Davos / Ranchi, January 21: Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a meeting with Infosys Global Executive Vice President Ashish Kumar Das on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The discussions focused on skill development, technology-led growth, and digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven transformation of the mining sector in Jharkhand.

The interaction was described as an important step towards shaping the future development roadmap of the state through technology and innovation.
Emphasis on Inclusive, Technology-Driven Growth
After the meeting, Ashish Kumar Das said the discussion with Chief Minister Hemant Soren was positive, visionary, and encouraging, reflecting Jharkhand’s commitment to inclusive development supported by information technology.

He said the Chief Minister’s focus on youth skill development, strengthening digital infrastructure, and adopting advanced digital and AI solutions in the mining sector shows the state’s preparedness for the future economy. He also appreciated the work and long-term vision for Jharkhand.
Skill Development and AI Collaboration Discussed
During the meeting, discussions were held on the possible role of Wingspan in accelerating digital and AI skill development for the youth of Jharkhand. Infosys also proposed showcasing AI-led business transformation use cases developed for the mining sector.
It was agreed that a follow-up virtual meeting would be organised in February 2026.
Invitation to Visit Infosys House
Infosys invited the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, and senior officials of the Jharkhand government to visit Infosys House, where advanced AI innovations and technology solutions would be demonstrated.
Officials said the engagement is a step towards positioning Jharkhand as an emerging hub of skills, technology, and innovation, with development and future readiness moving together.
