Jamshedpur, Dec 27: Jharkhand is set to experience cold and dry weather conditions over the next few days, with foggy mornings and chilly nights dominating the forecast, particularly in the western parts of the state.

According to weather observations and forecasts, isolated pockets of western Jharkhand are likely to witness cold wave conditions on December 27, with similar conditions persisting intermittently thereafter.
Shallow to moderate fog is expected during the early morning hours at isolated places on December 27 and 28, followed by mainly clear skies and dry weather as the day progresses.

On December 29 and 30, fog or mist is likely during morning hours, while the rest of the day is expected to remain largely clear and dry across the state.
Meteorological analysis indicates that no significant synoptic system is currently influencing Jharkhand.
North-westerly to westerly winds prevailing in the lower tropospheric levels are contributing to the drop in temperatures and stable, dry conditions.
During the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across the state, with shallow to moderate fog reported at isolated locations.
Cold wave conditions were realized in isolated pockets of western and adjoining central Jharkhand.
Temperature variations remain sharp, highlighting the winter chill. Gumla and it’s adjoining areas continued to record lowest minimum temperature for the second consecutive day, underscoring the severity of the cold in some regions.
Residents, especially in western Jharkhand, have been advised to take precautions against cold exposure and remain alert during early morning hours when fog may reduce visibility.
