Ranchi, July 1: BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo accused the Congress party of being anti-tribal. Pratul stated that the Congress state president and other leaders are currently pretending to shed tears for tribal interests, while their history is filled with atrocities against tribals.

He further said that during the Saraikela-Kharsawan firing incident, thousands of tribals were shot at. In the Gua firing incident, Jharkhand movement activists were pulled out of police custody and shot. At both times, the Congress was in power in the state, and the cases were hushed up.

Pratul said that the Congress was the biggest opponent of the Jharkhand movement, with movement activists facing oppression. He further alleged that after independence, Congress kept the demand for a separate Jharkhand state on hold for a long time, and when necessary, even bought off Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MPs but did not grant a separate state.

Congress voted against the country’s first tribal President Droupadi Murmu

Pratul Shah Deo said that when the country was about to get its first tribal President, the Congress campaigned and voted against Draupadi Murmu across the nation. Congress also ensured that most of its allied parties voted against her. At that time, their so-called tribal love vanished, revealing their true stance toward tribals.

He added that the Congress, which today sheds crocodile tears in the name of tribals, has a history steeped in atrocities against them. No matter how much they try to wash away this sin, it will not be erased because the stains are too dark.
