Ranchi, Dec 23: Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth strongly criticized the Congress party during a press conference today. Seth accused the Congress leadership of undermining democracy, saying, “The prince of Congress is leaving no stone unturned in tarnishing democracy. This has been the tradition of the Congress party, from Pandit Nehru to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.”

Referring to the recent events in Parliament, Seth remarked that what unfolded at the Makar Dwar of Parliament House was an attack on democracy witnessed not just by India but by the world. He stated, “Democracy flourishes with accountability and public shame, but Congress has abandoned these principles. Now, having been democratically defeated, the Congress seeks to wield muscle power to regain control. They’ve been out of power for the third consecutive term and are struggling like a fish out of water.”

Seth further alleged that the Congress party is acting out of desperation. “The Congress now embodies the saying ‘theft and arrogance.’ They flout the law both inside the Parliament and on the streets, creating chaos. Recently, a BJP MP was attacked by Congress MPs on Parliament premises, and a woman MP was insulted. Yet, Rahul Gandhi has not even expressed sympathy or visited the injured. This makes it clear that these incidents are part of a planned conspiracy by the Congress,” he said.

The Union Minister accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the Constitution. “Rahul Gandhi treats the Constitution as an ordinary book, using it for political stunts and playing with people’s sentiments. On the other hand, the BJP considers the Constitution a sacred text, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi bowing before it as a mark of respect,” he said.

Seth also criticized the Congress party’s historical stance toward Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He raised several pointed questions about Congress’s alleged neglect of Ambedkar:

  • Why didn’t Congress make public Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s resignation letter from the Nehru cabinet?
  • Why was Dr. Ambedkar’s oil painting not displayed in the Central Hall of Parliament during Congress rule?
  • Why did Congress honor only members of the Gandhi-Nehru family with the Bharat Ratna while ignoring Baba Saheb Ambedkar?
  • Why didn’t Congress construct a single memorial in Ambedkar’s name, despite building thousands of memorials for the Gandhi-Nehru family?
  • Why did Congress include a cartoon in NCERT books depicting Nehru whipping Dr. Ambedkar?
  • Why did Congress reject Rajkumari Amrit Kaur’s proposal to name AIIMS Delhi after Baba Saheb Ambedkar, even though she had donated the land for its establishment?

In contrast, Seth praised the BJP’s efforts to honour Ambedkar’s legacy. He noted, “It was a BJP-supported government that finally conferred the Bharat Ratna upon Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the five key sites associated with Ambedkar’s life have been developed as Panch Teerth.”

Seth emphasized that the BJP and NDA are committed to the development of all communities, including Dalits, tribals, and backward classes. He described the party’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” as more than just a slogan—it is a resolution that the BJP is determined to fulfill.

Concluding his remarks, Seth asserted, “The Congress party’s history is filled with insults toward Baba Saheb Ambedkar. They owe an apology to the people of this country.”

BJP State Secretary Seema Paswan, State Media Incharge Shiv Pujan Pathak, and State Spokespersons Rafia Naz and Ramakant Mahto were also present at the press conference.
