Jamshedpur, April 9: In a major boost to India’s sport climbing ambitions, Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) climber Joga Purty has qualified for the Asian Games 2026 in the Speed Climbing category.

She achieved this milestone with an impressive performance at the ongoing Asian Climbing Championship in China.

Competing against some of Asia’s top climbers, Joga delivered a commendable performance in the women’s Speed Climbing event, finishing among the top 16 athletes.

Her entry into the semi-finals highlights her growing stature in the sport and confirms her qualification for the Asian Games 2026, as per official World Climbing rankings and criteria.

Boost for TSAF’s Climbing Program

This achievement marks an important moment for TSAF, reflecting its continued focus on excellence in competitive climbing and developing athletes for the global stage.

The foundation has been consistently strengthening its presence in the sport. At the Asian Games 2022, two TSAF climbers had qualified, showing steady progress in international competitions.

Further strengthening India’s prospects, TSAF climbers Aman and Anisha have also shown strong potential at the championship and remain in contention for qualification.

Their performances point to a promising future for Indian sport climbing.

Focus on High-Performance Training

With a strong training ecosystem and a clear focus on high-performance development, TSAF continues to nurture talent and enhance India’s presence in the international climbing circuit.
