CM Hemant Soren joins Janmashtami celebrations, launches Dahi Handi contest in Ranchi

RANCHI, September 4: Chief Minister Hemant Soren joined the Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations and Dahi Handi competition organised by the Shri Krishna Janmotsav Ayojan Samiti at Morabadi Maidan in Ranchi.

Extending Janmashtami greetings to the people of Jharkhand, Soren wished everyone happiness, prosperity, progress and well-being.

Soren highlights Krishna’s message of duty and harmony

Addressing devotees and participants at the event, the Chief Minister said the gathering had come together to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna and expressed happiness over the enthusiastic participation of devotees and contestants.

Soren said the life and teachings of Lord Krishna inspire humanity to follow the path of truth, righteousness, love, compassion and duty.

He said Janmashtami reminds people to imbibe Lord Krishna’s ideals in their lives and strengthen the spirit of love, brotherhood, harmony and mutual cooperation in society.

The Chief Minister also expressed hope that with the blessings of Lord Krishna, Jharkhand would continue to witness peace, prosperity and happiness and move steadily on the path of development and progress.

Dahi Handi competition launched

During the programme, Soren inaugurated the Dahi Handi competition and felicitated participants of the Shri Krishna Janmotsav celebrations.

The large gathering of devotees and enthusiastic participation in the festivities added to the festive atmosphere at Morabadi Maidan.

Ministers, Congress leaders attend

Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, former Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur and Shri Krishna Janmotsav Ayojan Samiti patron Rajiv Ranjan Prasad were among those present at the event, along with other dignitaries.
