Jamshedpur, October 15: Jharkhand is likely to experience increasingly dry weather over the next few days, with mist or fog in the mornings and clearer skies later in the day, following the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the country on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast no significant change in maximum or minimum temperatures across the state over the next five days. However, isolated places in southern Jharkhand may receive light rain.
Morning Mist, Clear Skies Expected Across Jharkhand
According to the weather forecast, mist or fog is likely during the early morning hours, followed by partly cloudy or mainly clear skies during the day.
On October 15, partly cloudy conditions are expected after morning mist or fog. Isolated places in southern Jharkhand may experience light rainfall.
From October 16 onwards, morning mist or fog is likely to persist, while skies are expected to remain mainly clear later in the day. This pattern is likely to continue over the following days, with temperatures remaining relatively stable.
Southwest Monsoon Withdrawal Marks Seasonal Transition
The complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon on October 15 marks the end of the four-month rainy season across the country. With the monsoon having retreated, Jharkhand is entering the post-monsoon phase, when rainfall generally decreases and clearer skies become more frequent.
The IMD has also announced the onset of northeast monsoon rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
Atmospheric Trough Continues to Influence Weather Conditions
Meanwhile, a trough extending from northeast Uttar Pradesh to the east-central Arabian Sea, passing through east Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, persists at an altitude of 3.1 km above mean sea level. The weather system remains part of the prevailing atmospheric conditions.
Overall, Jharkhand is expected to experience relatively settled weather over the coming days. Residents should, however, remain prepared for morning mist and the possibility of isolated rainfall in southern parts of the state.
