New Delhi, March 8: Congress has geared up for the Lok Sabha elections. On Friday, Congress leader and general secretary KC Venugopal released the first list of 39 candidates.
According to the list, Rahul Gandhi has again been made the candidate from Wayanad. Former CM of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel has been given a ticket from Rajnandgaon. Shashi Tharoor will contest elections from Thiruvananthapuram. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal will contest from Alappuzha whereas Shreyas Patel has got the ticket from Hassan.
The Lok Sabha seat allocations for Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshwadeep, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana, and Tripura have been officially disclosed.
16 candidates from Kerala, seven from Karnataka, six from Chhattisgarh, and four from Telangana are among the total of 39 announced. There were one each from Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, and Lakshwadeep, and two from Meghalaya.
