Note Found on Prisoner’s Palm
According to officials, Rawani had written a note on his palm before the attempt, alleging that he was taking the step because of false accusations. He claimed that his wife, the complainant girl, and her mother were responsible for his plight and would also be responsible for his death.

Background of Conviction
Rawani, 24, a resident of Kenduadih in Dhanbad, was convicted in November 2024 and sentenced to 22 years in prison for kidnapping and repeatedly raping a minor girl.

He had claimed to have married the girl, but the victim denied this in court and testified that he raped her multiple times.
At SNMMCH, Rawani’s mother maintained that her son was innocent and alleged that the girl’s family had falsely implicated him in the case.
