Imphal, September 10: Due to the current law and order situation in Manipur’s capital, the District Magistrates of Imphal West and Imphal East have enforced a curfew in both districts beginning at 11:00 am on September 10.
On Monday, the District Magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West issued two separate orders rescinding the earlier curfew relaxation from 5 am to 10 pm and imposing a total curfew in both districts, effective immediately and until further notice.

An order issued on September 9, 2024, initially provided a curfew relaxation in Imphal East District from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm on September 10. However, due to escalating law and order issues, this relaxation has been cancelled effective from 11:00 am on September 10. A total curfew is now in place in Imphal East District until further notice.
This decision reflects the authorities’ response to the escalating situation, aiming to restore and maintain order in the district.
The orders specified that the curfew will not apply to individuals engaged in essential services such as healthcare, public health engineering, municipal duties, power supply (MSPCL/MSPDCL), petrol stations, court operations, flight passengers, and media personnel.
