Jamshedpur, Sept 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by gusty winds (with maximum wind speeds around 30 Kmph) over isolated places in the state till September 10.

The monsoon trough currently extends through the centre of depression over North Gujarat and adjoining Southwest Rajasthan, stretching across Sheopur, Guna, Damoh, Mana, Gopalpur and further southeastwards into the east-central Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, synoptic features indicate two significant weather systems:

An upper-air cyclonic circulation persisting over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, off the coasts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh, between 3.1 and 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.
Another upper-air cyclonic circulation was lying over southeast Uttar Pradesh and its neighbourhood at around 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
Monsoon activity was weak over Jharkhand during the past 24 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall activity was observed over the state during the past 24 hours
According to rain statistics Jharkhand received 37 per cent deficit rainfall in the month of September only, while the cumulative figure of rainfall from June till date showed 22 per cent surplus rain.
