Ranchi, April 10: The two-day ‘Dawa Mela 2026’, organised by the Doctors’ Wives Association (DWA), began with great enthusiasm at the IMA Hall, drawing a large crowd on its opening day.
The fair was inaugurated by Gandey MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren in the presence of IMA National President Dr Ajay Singh.

Addressing a gathering of women entrepreneurs, Kalpana Soren praised their efforts and appreciated the work being done by the Doctors’ Wives Association in promoting entrepreneurship and social welfare.

This year’s mela features more than 55 stalls, offering a wide range of products including dress materials, decorative items, plants, and food at a dedicated canteen.
Women entrepreneurs from across the country, the state, the city, and rural cottage industries are participating, showcasing and selling their products.
Stalls by the Jharkhand government’s Rural Development Department and Health Department’s Ayushman Digital initiative have also been set up.

Focus on Charity and Social Cause
The organisers said that all proceeds from the mela will go towards supporting needy women, children, and other underprivileged sections of society. The event is part of the association’s ongoing commitment to social service.
The event has been organised by the DWA executive team, including Chairperson Vinita Sharan, Founder and Co-Chairperson Jhuma Sarkar, President Taru Tiwari, Secretary Shweta Ranjan, and Treasurer Pallavi Sharan, along with a large number of members.
The strong turnout on the first day reflected the success of the initiative and the growing support for women-led enterprises and charitable causes.
