Dhanbad, Nov 21: The Dhanbad visit of Bageshwar Dham Pithadhishwar Baba Dhirendra Shastri Maharaj has been cancelled allegedly due to a lack of the district administration’s permission.
BJP Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto, the architect of the programme, today alleged that since district administration did not give permission, he has to cancel the programme even after completing all preparations.
The three-day event of religious leader Baba Dhirendra Shashtri Maharaj of Bageshwar Dham was scheduled to be held at Ramraj Mandir Chitahi in Baghmara block of Dhanbad from December 2 to 4.

MLA Dhulu Mahto while talking with media persons at the Dhanbad circuit house alleged that on the direction of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Dhanbad civil and police administration did not permit the programme.
“I had applied for permission from district administration three weeks ago. Even on November 3, I again requested the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the same. They assured but to date (November 22) did not permit and I have to cancel it,” said Dhulu Mahto.
The three-time Baghmara MLA said the programme was a non-political one organized on the demand of the people of Coalbelt. But the administration sat on the application in the name of security problems.
“The Hemant Soren-led state government has panicked from the assembly of Sanatan Dharm followers. However, I will hold the programme after getting permission from the Jharkhand High Court,” said Dhulu Mahto.
Deputy Commissioner Barun Ranjan and the Senior Superintendent of Police were not available for comment on Dhulu Mahto’s allegation.
BJP Mahanagar president Chandrashekhar Singh, general secretary Nitin Bhatt, Nirmal Mishra, Sunil Choudhary and district BJP spokesperson Milton Parthsarthi were also present in the media talk.
