New Delhi, June 29: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court today sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to 14-day judicial custody in a corruption case related to the excise policy/ liquor scam.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requested in this regard after which the Vacation Judge Sunena Sharma sent Kejriwal to judicial custody till July 12.

Today, after the expiry of Kejriwal’s three-day custody period, the CBI produced him in the court and requested to send him to judicial custody.

Advocate DP Singh, representing the CBI, requested that Arvind Kejriwal be placed in judicial custody, alleging that during his police custody remand, Kejriwal was examined and interrogated but did not cooperate with the probe and deliberately provided evasive answers that contradicted the evidence on record.
