New Delhi, August 20: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was allegedly attacked during a public grievance hearing on Wednesday morning at her official residence in Civil Lines. The BJP has strongly condemned the incident.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Rekha Gupta was holding her weekly public hearing at her residence when a 35-year-old man arrived with a complaint.
Initially, the accused waited calmly for his turn. However, when he reached the Chief Minister, he handed over some documents and suddenly slapped her.

Security personnel immediately overpowered the man and took him into custody. Police are currently interrogating him, and a detailed investigation is underway.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Ramesh Bidhuri and president Virendra Sachdeva condemned the incident, calling it unfortunate.
They said such acts were aimed at disrupting democratic forums like public hearings. They further said that this is not only an attack on the Chief Minister but also an assault on the process of public dialogue.
