Synoptic Situation

The depression over south coastal Odisha moved west-northwestwards  and was centered over south interior Odisha 50 Km north-northwest of Daringabadi (Odisha), 90 km east of Bhawanipatna (Odisha), and 90 Km southeast of Titlagarh (Odisha).

The system is expected to continue moving west-northwestwards across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh and gradually weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area.

Meanwhile, the monsoon trough extends from Diu–Surat–Nandurbar–Amravati–center of depression over Odisha to east-central Bay of Bengal, up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level, sustaining favorable conditions for enhanced rainfall activity.

Precautions

The IMD has advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert for possible waterlogging, localized flooding, and disruptions due to gusty winds and lightning. Farmers and outdoor workers are urged to take necessary precautions.
