New Delhi, September 13: In a 1984-anti Sikh riots case, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Friday framed charges of murder and additional offences against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

Special Judge Rakesh Siyal ordered that Tytler stand trial after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On August 30, the judge stated that there was enough evidence to move forward with the case against the accused.

Special Judge Rakesh Syal has scheduled the trial and evidence recording for October 3.

A witness had previously submitted in the charge sheet that on November 1, 1984, Tytler came out from a white Ambassador car in front of Gurudwara Pul Bangash and incited the crowd by shouting, “Kill the Sikhs, they have killed our mother,” which resulted in the murder of three people.

The court directed that charges be framed for several offenses, including unlawful assembly, rioting, inciting enmity between groups, trespassing, and theft.
