New Delhi, Dec 3: A high-ranking police official announced on Sunday that five individuals have been taken into custody in relation to an alleged extortion case in Delhi.
DCP Joy Tirkey, who is the Deputy Commissioner of Police for North-East Delhi, stated that an extortion case was reported in Bhajanapura during the night between December 1 and 2.
“Five accused have been arrested. Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining two accused,” DCP Tirkey stated.
“The complainant stated that on December 1, four unknown persons pretending to be patients came to his clinic and threatened him with a country-made pistol and demanded Rs 5 lakh as protection money,” he further stated.

“Further investigation is in the process,” he added.
According to the police, the individuals involved are Haider Ali (18), who was previously apprehended as a child in conflict with the law for a murder and robbery case. Faisal Pathani (18) was found in possession of a country-made pistol linked to the crime. Sakib (19) has a prior theft case and was released on bail two months ago. Mohd Zaim (23) works as a scrap dealer and devised the plan for extortion against the doctor. All suspects reside in Bhanjapura, and a minor (16) from Maujpur, Delhi, was also involved.
