New Delhi, Dec 24: Delhi Police busted a gang involved in creating fake IDs and documents on Tuesday. The police have apprehended 11 individuals, including five Bangladeshi nationals and six locals.
According to reports, this group was assisting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in settling in Delhi by providing them with fake documents such as voter IDs and Aadhaar cards.
Operation to identify illegal immigrants
Delhi Police launched an operation on December 11 to identify Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally. As part of the drive, the police are conducting house-to-house verifications, examining documents, and interrogating individuals. Local police and the Foreigners’ Cell have been deployed for this targeted operation.
DCP Ankit Chauhan of South Delhi revealed that fake Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and passports were recovered from the arrested individuals. The website facilitating these activities was operated by Rajat Mishra. Among those arrested is a woman who used a fake Aadhaar card to obtain a voter ID.

Police have so far identified over a thousand Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Delhi.
Four Bangladeshi suspects arrested in murder case
In connection with a murder case, four suspects from Bangladesh have also been apprehended. They were living in Delhi using forged documents, with a person named Sahil reportedly creating their fake birth certificates.
It was further disclosed that illegal immigrants used forest routes and express trains to enter Indian territory.
According to reports, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena summoned the Chief Secretary and Police Commissioner on December 10. The Lieutenant Governor instructed strict action against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Delhi and ordered the launch of a targeted two-month campaign to identify them.
