Rohtak, August 5: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, convicted in serious crimes including rape and murder, has once again walked out of prison on parole. Behind bars since August 2017, he has now been granted a 40-day parole.

During this period, Ram Rahim will stay at the Dera Ashram in Sirsa and participate in several events, including his birthday celebrations. This marks the 14th time he has been released on parole since his conviction.

Tight Security as Ram Rahim Reaches Dera Headquarters

After securing parole, Ram Rahim left Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail on August 5 and reached the Sirsa Dera amid heavy security. He is set to celebrate his 58th birthday on August 15, for which a series of special programs will be organized throughout the month at the Dera.

As per conditions, he must remain at the Sirsa Ashram during the parole period and return to jail on September 14.

Frequent Releases from Jail

This is not the first time Ram Rahim has been out of prison on parole or furlough. So far, he has been released 14 times, spending 91 days outside prison this year alone.

In April, he was out on a 21-day furlough for the Dera’s foundation day, and in February, he secured a 30-day parole during the Delhi Assembly elections.

Incarcerated Since 2017

Ram Rahim has been incarcerated since August 2017, when a CBI court in Panchkula sentenced him to two 20-year terms for raping two women followers.

He was also convicted in the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
