Ranchi, April 12: Powered by Durga Murmu’s brilliant century and Vristi Kumari’s devastating bowling, Dhanbad crushed Deoghar by 233 runs in the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Senior Women’s Inter-District One Day Tournament at the Ranchi Oval Ground.

Batting first, Dhanbad posted a total of 317 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 50 overs. In response, Deoghar’s team was bowled out for just 84 runs in 35.3 overs. Vristi Kumari was adjudged Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Murmu and Kishore Shine with the Bat

The main architects of Dhanbad’s innings were Durga Murmu, who smashed an impressive 149 runs, and international all-rounder Anandita Kishore, who struck a fluent half-century (53 runs).

Supporting contributions came from Anjali Soren (30 runs) and Aisha Ali (24 runs), helping Dhanbad reach a formidable total. For Deoghar, Sonia Kumari and Anjali Hembrom took two wickets each, conceding 33 and 61 runs respectively.

Deoghar Struggle Against Vristi’s Fiery Bowling

Chasing a target of 318 runs, Deoghar struggled against Dhanbad’s bowling attack, collapsing for 84 runs. Sonia Kumari was the top scorer for Deoghar with 22 runs, while Anjali Hembrom and Purnima Kumari added 19 and 16 runs respectively.

Vristi Kumari wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming seven wickets for just 16 runs in 7.3 overs which included three maiden overs. Neha Kumari supported well, picking up two wickets for 19 runs, while Babli Kumari chipped in with one wicket for 10 runs.

Milan Dutta presented the Player of the Match award to Vristi Kumari for her match-winning performance.

JSCA Executive Committee member and former Dhanbad Cricket Association secretary Vinay Kumar Singh, who has been instrumental in nurturing women’s cricket in the district, congratulated the players for showcasing their full potential.
